Out of the Woods | Our Story

Rooted in Bolton, Grown from the Woods

Out of the Woods is family-owned and rooted in Bolton, bringing scratch-made food, thoughtful cooking, and a love of the outdoors to the community we call home.
Behind the Food

Behind the Food

Chef Justin O’Malley grew up in Lowell, MA, and found his passion for food in the kitchen of a restaurant in Burlington, MA, where he worked his way through every station before pursuing his culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America. He earned both an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Science before spending three years as Head Chef at Greenleaf in Milford, NH, where he refined his culinary style. Today, his commitment to local, seasonal ingredients continues to shape his cooking at Out of the Woods.
From the Bolton Bean

From the Bolton Bean

Out of the Woods grew from the same roots as the Bolton Bean, a family-owned business that has been part of the heart of Bolton since 2016. Built by the Patterson family, Out of the Woods is a new dining experience shaped by their love of the outdoors and a desire to bring that love into the heart of the restaurant.

Our menu follows the seasons, drawing inspiration from the farms, fields, and forests of New England and letting the ingredients take the lead.
The Kitchen's Craft

The Kitchen's Craft

From stocks and sauces to dessert and every dish on the plate, our kitchen makes things from scratch. We take the time to do it right, letting quality ingredients and thoughtful technique speak for themselves.
